Had an absolute blast shooting local jazz vocalist Maureen Washington as we worked together to create some promotional imagery in support of her music. She assembled a fantastic team with her make up artist and hair stylist – her daughters Bethany and Emily Shultz – and I was very fortunate to have Zia Kalyan along as a lighting assistant and honorary gear hauler.
One of the elements we were hoping to capture was the very dynamic spirit and contagious enthusiasm for life that Maureen exudes in her personality – this dynamism is magnified in her live shows and we were hoping to convey that sense and the heartfelt way she pours herself into the songs.
